Baked Beans w/Meat
Baked Beans w/Meat
With 4th of July this weekend, I have been requested by my family to make some baked beans, so I decided to add more meat in it than I normally do. Zummos sent me this delicious sausage and I knew it would be perfect for this dish. I know some people prefer not to add meat in their baked beans but after this recipe, you might change your mind. For this recipe I used Bush’s baked beans but you could also use pork n’ beans as well. Start by cutting 1 lb of your favorite smoke sausage into smaller pieces.
Add the sliced sausage to a hot pan and cook until they are browned and set aside.
In the same pan, add 1 lb of ground beef and fully cook. Once the ground beef is fully cook, remove any excess oil and add the ground beef back to the pan.
To the ground beef, add the cooked sausage, 1/2 diced white onion, 1 diced green bell pepper, 2 chopped cloves of garlic and 1 diced jalapeno and stir well. Leave a few of the seeds in the jalapeno for some added spice.
Season with 1 tsp of cajun seasoning, 1 tsp of garlic powder and 1 tsp of onion powder and stir well.
Add 1 55oz can of baked beans and stir well.
Add I cup of bbq sauce, 2 tbsp of yellow mustard and 1/2 cup of brown sugar and stir well.
Pour the beans in an oven-safe baking dish and add to a 350 degree oven for 25 minutes.
Remove from the oven and serve with your favorite main dishes. Serve and ENJOY!
