Easy Pepper Steak

Easy Pepper Steak

Whenever I am in the mood for takeout, pepper steak is my go-to. The tender meat and veggies with a savory and spicy sauce works every time! Here is another delicious one pot meal I know you will love. You can get creative with this dish and change up the peppers to your liking. You can add chilis for more spice but I used Sriracha in the sauce for the added kick. You can also use ribeye steak instead of sirloin but it all depends on your preference. Thinly slice 1b pound of sirloin steak.

Add 1 tbsp of vegetable oil to a skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the meat. Season the meat with 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of black pepper.

Cook for 10 minutes or until the meat turns brown. Once all of the pieces are brown, cover it with a lid for 5-7 minutes to make sure the inside of the meat gets tender.

Once the beef meat is tender and fully cooked, set it aside.

To the same pan, add 1 sliced green bell pepper, 1 sliced red bell pepper and 1/2 sliced white onion. Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the veggies are soft. You may need to add 1/4 cup of water to the pan to allow the veggies to cook faster.

Once the veggies are soft, add the beef meat back to the pan. Add 1 tsp minced ginger and 1 tbsp of minced garlic and stir well.

In a bowl, add 1/2 cup of soy sauce, 1 1/2 tbsp of brown sugar, 1 tsp of Sriracha, 1 tsp rice vinegar and 1 tbsp of corn starch and whisk well.

Pour the sauce over the meat and veggies and stir.

Cook for 5 minutes or until the sauce has thickened. Serve with rice and ENJOY!
